This HUGE box of back plane to bulkhead cables has arrived from Maryland USA (which is west of me). I am pleased to have such a varied source of cables within arm’s reach as I often acquire PCB’s that are missing the necessary bulkhead cables. Thank you Tom.
Data General DTOS 8.1 on cassette. Here is a blast from the past – anyone remember loading DTOS from cassette tape? This is way before my time but I suspect this was the next stage on from Paper Tape before 9 Track Mag Tape became prevalent. VIP John (USA) has very kindly entrusted me with […]

Does anyone recognise the 48pin DIP labeled A01 and have any information on it and/or the PCB? The PCB part number is 005-039526 – […]
With lock-down in place here in the UK restoration work has stalled as systems are either at my place of work or in storage both of which I am unable to attend. So in order to stem the withdraw symptoms I have been continuing work on an extender for the Nova/Eclipse bus. I am about […]

Brian contacted me recently after stumbling across my site. His father (Roland Quillia) was with DG for over 20 years (70’s – 90’s) and mainly oversaw the Westboro and Southboro Facilities in Massachusetts but had responsibility across the US. Brian has fond memories of being inside the DG headquarters many times. He has also very kindly […]
Suprise delivery this week from the guy I acquired the AViiON 5500 from, he found a keyboard, some further documentation and two tapes one for DG/UX 5.4.2 and AViiON Diagnostics Rev 13 (12.60). You can take a look at the inside of this machine and follow its restoration by clicking here.
Having had another batch of Data General PCB’s delivered today I thought it best to start to take stock of what I have ‘in the shed’ just in case something is of interest to someone but more importantly to ensure I don’t acquire something I already have (my memory is not what it used to […]
